Equitable

The United Nations has stated that cities are the key actors in the fight against discrimination, and I believe this to be true. Municipalities are on the front lines of the impacts of poverty, inequality, unemployment and exclusion. I do believe that if we build a city that benefits our most marginalized it will benefit all.

An equitable city is also one that creates opportunities for social engagement and economic opportunity for all of it's citizens. It is the diversity in our population that strengthens our collective culture and creativity. The City of North Vancouver must be welcoming to new people, work to improve the lives of all citizens, and work with the Squamish Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation to continue on the path to reconciliation.
